6 Types of People you Encounter in a Coffee Shop/ Tea Shop

Like you, I am fond going to Coffee Shops or Tea Shops, mainly to work. And every time I’m in my own little world, I can’t help but notice the other people I am with.
(Disclaimer: These are based on my experiences and opinions)

1.     Three Amigas

The three amigas consists of the female gender and what they usually do is just talk about love life, work, family or just life. They can come in different numbers but usually they come in the form of 3. They usually place themselves in the couch (for long talks, over coffee or tea) or somewhere far from the middle.

Choice of Weapon: Voice.

2.     Student
The student can be anyone. Usually, they are alone but sometimes they have someone with them to study. They place themselves beside the outlet (so they can plug all of their electronics), on the corners or couch (comfort is key here).

Choice of Weapon: Books, Cellphones with Earphones and Laptops

3.     Gamers

This one came a shock to me. I never actually encountered gamers in a coffee shop but for the past few weeks, staying in one coffee shop, I encountered them almost everyday. They put themselves on the couches and have their Nintendo DS on their hands. They come in groups of 5, 4 boys and 1 girl (what I see everyday) They play for like 20-30 minutes then have a short break then back to the game again.

Choice of Weapon: Nintendo DS and Sound blocking earphones.

4.     Love birds

Ahhhhhh, the love birds. Do I really have to explain? “Anywhere is fine, as long I’m with you”

Choice of Weapon: Each other

5.     Working Person

I guess this is where I fall. Based on experience and observation, we usually put ourselves in the corner near the plugs, so we can concentrate and plug our electronics. We usually have our headphones to lock the noise out.

Choice of Weapon: Laptops, Phones, Headphones

6.     Business Moguls

They have their meetings at the coffee shop and has an audience of at least 2-3 persons. They present their ideas to these people and just talk over it. They generally seat anywhere as long as they can present their business to these profitable people.

Choice of Weapon: Convincing Voice.

Anxiety

How can one overcome the feeling of uneasiness? How will you make someone believe that you were really doing something? I am so overwhelmed. This is stressing me out.

If Not For My Teacher

I want to say, Thank You to all of my teachers who;

Hats off to you! :)

5 Things to Prepare when riding the MRT for the Ladies

DISCLAIMER: First of all, i am absolutely no expert at this topic. I am just a normal commuter, like you, that rides the train almost everyday. All of these are just based ON MY OPINION. I am not affiliated with the Metro Rail Transit Corp.

1. MRT Stored Value Card
Admit it, no one likes lining up right? So to prepare yourself for this daily battle i suggest you buy a Stored Value Card. It saves you a lot of time and avoid long lines.

2. Yourself
During rush hours and you decide to take the MRT, you better ready yourself to be abused physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
If you are like me who prefers riding the female coach part of the train, you better ought to be mentally and emotionally prepared. You see, women are emotional predators. Especially when its 'going home' time. No one wants to start a world war 3 with a very tired or hungry person. They can also get feisty if they want.
What I Suggest: Let us just be patient. No need to be mean around all of these people. Everyone, just like you, wants to go home.

3. Sense of Smell
I know it sounds insensitive and mean but trust me, there will be times that you just wish that there's an off button for your nose. I'm sure most of us ladies came from fully-air conditioned offices, but that doesn't mean we don't smell, sometimes. (i am not saying i don't sweat okay??)

Let us take Ortigas Station as an example. Let us say you work around Emerald Ave. and the only way to get to the Station is by walking. So you leave your AIR CONDITIONED office and walk your way to the MRT Station. As you are walking, you notice that a liquid matter- SWEAT- is already forming around your neck, face and worse- underarms. And imagine you are walking under the scorching heat of the sun. So when you get to the platform, you are already sweating like a pig or maybe just a bit. Then the train arrives and you ride it. Sometimes, just sometimes, aircon and sweat are not good combination.
What I Suggest: Maybe your two cents will be good here? :)

 4. Try to be Aware of your surroundings.
You'll probably say, "How can i do that, i cannot even move my head to scan the people behind or beside me"

If you can't scan, one of things you should do is make sure that your things are safe. There was a time i rode the train and suddenly the girl shouted "May nagnakaw ng telepono ko" and it was really sad for her, because she just got her Samsung S4 a week ago and she was en route to Trinoma to have it fixed because there was no signal (i sounded like a stalker but i was just trying to help her and she was telling me how it happened). Apparently, the robber was really trying to scooch her way in towards the bag of the lady.
What I Suggest: What i normally do is i just hold my phone, at least by that way, I can see and still feel it.

5. Wear Comfortable Clothing/Shoes
Before going home, you might want to change to a comfortable pair of shoes or slippers.

Sacrificing to wear that beautifully crafted shoe is a must. You don't want to walk towards the train station wearing heels. Why? First of all, RUSH HOUR. You don't want people to get ahead of you in walking because you are wearing your precious heels. Second, be sensitive. Wearing heels inside a sardine like train won't help the other passengers, there might be a time that you will step on them. Trust me, you don't want that person you stepped on go bitchy on you because of that. Lastly, Comfort. We want to be comfortable as much as possible because riding the train, especially in rush hours means more waiting while standing or more waiting while riding.
What I Suggest: Wear flats or slippers if you must. But if you can manage wearing heels,  you are freely to do so.

If you have more suggestions feel free to do so. You and I will never be limited to these 5 things.

Till then,

Raissa

Project Bookshelf

I like doing projects and i am specially excited for this new one. Suggested by my dear friend, Clarise, she told me that making a Bookshelf should be my next project.

Honestly, it is a good idea. I have tons of books in my room and outside in the hallway. Mixed of educational, novels, and others. I really want to make my own bookshelf.

As i suggested this idea to my mother, she replied with much consternation. She said, "Why don't you just buy, its much cheaper and you don't want have to do all the work." My mother is probably correct, but i wanted to try this Do-It-Yourself Project.

Alas! I gave up and i am now on the hunt for a good bookcase, that maybe, just maybe, i can 'refurbish' to my liking. Maybe a white one, then i can paint some beautiful artsy stuff on it.

Dracula

Series introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There's only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: Dracula falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife. Written by NBC

You see, i fancy vampires. Twilight might have been a "sucky" (see the pun there?) movie, but that didn't stop me from watching it. I always had these thought, that vampires are meant to be pale, mysterious, absolutely ravishing and more. And these thoughts of mine are actually real.

I mean look at, Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore in Vampire Diaires, then you have Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in Twilight and lastly, you have Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Alexander Grayson in the new hit series, Dracula.

Anything that has vampires in it, i will absolutely watch.

And of course, I am already watching it. The show is already in episode 4 and i am loving it. For the first episode i was quite unsure of it. Mainly because i was not used to Meyers' American Accent and second the whole acting of the cast was quite off, with the exception of (not naming people).

But since it was a dracula show and meyers' was there, i couldn't help but still watch it. And thank heavens, cause the next 3 episodes was tumultuous. That's a good thing in my world. It will be rather weird if something so good will be just good all along, there will be no thrill in it.
Meyers' is the perfect man for this role. Sexy and Hot.
